Goodwins' life in Korea busy, as Christmas I CHRISTMAS 1960 (From J. G. Goodwin Jr., Baptist missionary in Korea, mid a Hillsboro native) Dear Friends. Another year, is nearly gone as we look forward to our. fifth Christmas in Korea. How the time has flown by! It hardly seems possible that furlough time is just a few months away. These initial years of orientation, ad justment, and study have been difficult ones at times. But }he Lord has been gracious and has blessed us in more ways than we tan enumerate arid understand. We give Him thanks for all that He has done and is doing day by day. And how thankful we are for you, our friends and loved ones in other places who are as truly partners as though you were with us here. Your love and pray ers are strong arms of support etter attests that we cannot do without. The year 1960 has brought many changes to Korea, as you have doubtless heard and read. There is yet much apprehension and un rest here. New inflation is threatening the economy. The words of Jesus, “The poor you have with you always,” take on a real significance when one walks through the streets of Pu san. But in spite of political un rest and physical poverty, the greatest need of this nation is Christ. Pray for Korea and for more national pnd missionary preachers to tell the “good tid ing^ of great joy.” All of our family is fine. June is active in W. M. U. work and is studying the language. Jimmy is ip second grade at the army dependents school here. Johnny, had his third birthday, in Novem ber and is really a big boy.
